I started the route near my house in Wauwatosa. Then went north on the Menomonee Line, east on the Bradley Connector, south on the Zip Line, and Milwaukee River Line. I carried a bladder and two soft flasks (about 80oz total). I refilled water at a public tap at the Urban Ecology Center. Although most bubblers are closed, someone had previously tampered with this one allowing me to fill from below. I was in a pretty good groove until this point, but never quite found it again after I stopped. That being said, I would have been out of water long before finishing had I not re-supplied. After going through the Third Ward, I took the Hank Aaron trail along Canal St. back to Tosa to complete the loop.

This was a bucket list run that I've wanter to do for a while now. It was a great day and not too hot or humid considering August in Wisconsin. Thanks to Paul for submitting the route, otherwise I may have never given it a try! There certainly still some room for improvement here. Some cooler temps would be helpful to limit the weight of additional water. In the future there may also be more available options for filling up water along the way. If you're looking for a PR 50K, come give it a try!
