I attempted the Patapsco Valley State Park traverse FKT (unsupported female) on March 28, 2025. I started in Sykesville at about 6:45am and ended at the Avalon picnic area at about 12:45pm. The weather was perfect and the trails were maintained throughout the entire course. I saw almost no one out there on the trails, and received no help, material or moral. No one ran with me for any portion of the route, and I did not resupply with food or water. I carried all food and water with me in a running vest for the entirety of the route.
I missed a couple turns, which may have added a tenth of a mile or so, but I corrected as soon as possible to stay true to the course specified on fastestknowntime.com. However, there were a few trail closures that changed the course from the official gpx file provided by fastestknowntime.com. Namely Gray's Mill Trail (about miles 23-27) has been permanently closed and replaced with a new trail. To follow the rules of the State Park, I only used the new official trail, and did not enter behind any "closed trail" signs. I believe this may have added 1.5-2 miles onto the course, as I finished with a total of 32.9 miles instead of 30.9.
P.S. My legal given first name is "Stephanie" but my preferred first name is "Sam", if possible I would like this to be reflected if my attempt is posted as a new record. I understand if this is not possible.
Also, this attempt resulted in a 50k PR for me!
