Left Woodstock in beautiful sunshine with a nice cool breeze. We carried approximately 3.5L of water each, one sanwich and a variety of snacks. Plenty of people over took us in Blenheim's grounds but then we were pretty alone for the remainder of the run. Route had lots of trails which were very hard underfoot. Some sections had lots of loose stones. We wore road shoes which seemed suitable in the dry weather. A few long hills but generally fairly flat. Would recommend anticlockwise. Not sure how much was on road but it was 10-15km maybe...more than we thought it would be. Lovely views through various valley; especially lovely with the rapeseed fields and bluebell forests. Very poorly signposted. Lovely route.
