It was my 3rd attempt. The first time, I had to stop after 10k with stomach issues. The second time, the plan was to do it overnight, but after a working day. So at 60k I was sleepwalking and had to call it a day.. or night in this case!
This time, I did the route in my vacation. It was a beautiful day, not to hot, not to cold, no rain. Just a perfect day. The first 60k, I remembered from my second attempt, but it's a whole other experience with daylight.
I was packed with 2 l of water and 1,5 l regular water, 6 sandwiches with strawberry jam, and 8 sport bars. I would have liked a bit more.
I ran the course solo, without headphones. But it was a sunny day, so lot's of people walking the trails, which makes it feel less alone.
My pace was to fast in the first part, so I paid it cash in the second part. But overal, it was a good training day! I want to run my first 100 miler in 1,5 month.
