Started at the west trailhead around 6am on Sunday, March 29. I brought 1.5L of water with me and refilled at the Pima Trailhead halfway point (turns out, this was not enough water for a 90+ degree day!!). Fueled with gels the whole time. The trail gets deceptively technical, and oh so hot--especially in the flatter valleys. So much respect for the desert dwellers who run in these conditions on the daily! I ran out of water with about 5-6 mi left and it was a bit of a struggle to the finish. But overall a great day and I loved the ridgeline sections. Saw a couple rattlesnakes too :)
