I started early in the morning to try to beat the crowds, since it’s peak hiker season here. Regardless, I saw at least 70 people out hiking. The first 2 miles were very fast moving. I was focused on making progress and didn’t really notice the scenery. My pay slowed dramatically in the next 2 miles as the train became very challenging. In the last one and 1/3 mile I enjoyed the incredible views in every direction.I felt fantastic when I turned around. Dropping below tree line even though I was descending my pesos rather slow because the footing is very difficult. The final 2 miles flew by. I was pleased with my time and this is a route I would do again. Typical Maine beauty, typical Maine challenging.
