A solo self-supported journey following the "standard" route with the exception of the leg between Cirali and Goynuk Yayla where I took the inland variation via Ulupinar, Beycik, Yayla Kuzdere and Gedelme. Super lucky with the weather - a bit hot during the first week, but cooler in the mountains and more cloud around for the second week.
An extraordinary adventure with breathtaking scenery, beautiful flowers, whacky ancient ruins & friendly locals. There was also a vast amount of rough rocky ground, spiky vegetation, steep climbs & descents. I made friends with some goats, fended off dogs & chased after tortoise. I camped in some amazing locations & squeezed my tent into a few that were less than ideal, usually without access to any water to wash off the daily sweat & grime. I cringed at passing through a village before the shop was open then grinned when a cafe popped up in the unlikeliest of places.
Some long days and not much running but covered the ground steadily. Broke a pole 3 hours into day 1, but otherwise no major mishaps.
