Not the day I was hoping for, but I still beat my old time by 26 min, so I'm going to let myself be happy with that. Pushed hard thru Newfound Gap trying to keep Liz's supported time in sight, and then blew up even harder at Ice Water. Almost blacked out and got so stumbly that I thought about calling for help. I think if I'd had a crew I probably would have dropped and just come back another day. Maybe I was dehydrated? I'm not sure. I had definitely skimped on water because my pack was already a bit heavy. Not smart. Anyway, I recovered enough that I felt safe to continue, but my heart wasn't really in it after that. I just didn't want to be out there anymore. Definitely felt like my fitness was tons better than last year, just need to be better about managing the rest of me.
Used the Patagonia High Endurance Kit. 10/10 recommend. That whole set-up is great.
