I chose to start my run in the evening after finishing a week of night shifts therefore having a full day of sleep so I could tackle the night when I felt most awake, always safer when running solo. The stillness of the night was magical and the reflective trail makers made navigation a breeze. Come dawn it was great to see surfers off the coast and as the day progressed a few hikers were out. Such a great run but I was ready for it to finish when the trail turned to pavement past Sugarloaf Rock- not my kind running surface. Carried my own food for the run and filled up with water at Hamelin Bay, Prevelly, Gracetown and Yallingup either at fountains or the public restrooms. River crossings manageable with Margaret River mouth being the highest up to mid thigh.
Thanks Jamie Reeves for pointing out something that I never though I could achieve.
