Check out my report for more details. The conditions weren't ideal for this out and back. There was a fair amount of snow on the ground following Friday's storm. It was about 30 degrees Fahrenheit at the start and warmed a bit. That made the already wet snow even softer. The "dirt road" section of the Iron Trail was an absolute mess. Unfortunately, ATV's had torn up the trail leaving deep and muddy ruts.
Stone Man Mountain was the highlight. The views were excellent and the snow made it even nicer. Some woman will have to go back and better our time (when the snow melts). Debbie and I may go back in warmer weather. We will wait and see. It's mostly uphill on the way out (heading south) and generally downhill on the way back. With the snow, it didn't feel "fast" until the last two miles. Prior to that, it was a slog.
