Today, Debbie and I ran the Richard H. Goodwin Trail for the first time (in its entirety). We have been on sections of the trail and neighboring trails in the past. It was a fun run. We started at the western trailhead on Route 82 in Salem. We ran to the eastern trailhead at the kiosk in East Lyme. Then we ran back. It was a really cold day, but we were adequately dressed. We had brilliant sunshine, which made the cold bearable. The trail was in good shape, though icy in spots. This trail is highly recommended and its clear that the volunteers from the Eightmile River Wild & Scenic Watershed and other land trusts do a great job. See my full report.
