The Finch Brook Trail Loop is a little gem in Wolcott, Connecticut. It’s a 12 minute drive from Debbie’s parents’ house in Prospect, which makes it the perfect post-Christmas location for a run. After yesterday’s deluge, the wind blew through, and the temperature plummeted overnight. We headed over there in the late morning. I first wanted to run this trail over the summer, but I'm glad we waited until today. Debbie did run it once last month when she did one loop and set the FKT. Today, we returned to do two loops.
We ran independently of each other (solo). We ran moderately on loop one and then ran negative splits on loop two. The start/finish of the loop is at the end of the cut-de-sac on Barbara Drive. We chose to go in the counter-clockwise direction. We started/stopped right at the tree that has the trail sign mounted to it. The route was fairly easy to navigate despite winding and twisting in many directions. Check out my full report.
