An unsupported & solo attempt of Chris MacPherson's route from the fountain in Falkland to the trig point of Benarty. Bright sunny conditions (a little too sunny, should have applied suncream) and a strong SW'ly headwind pretty much the whole way. Would have been a good day to attempt the route in reverse!
Familiar with the Lomonds as my local hills so route choice was straightforward but couldn't believe how busy the very windy summit of East was with tourists and dog walkers. Messed up a little on the final ascent to Benarty at the end when I wasn't thinking so some time to make up here. Didn't bother taking any water or food, just carried my trusty emergency body cover belt pack.
With a following wind I reckon there's another 10 minutes, but a sub 2 hour is probably beyond me.
