Cat and I parked at the Fairhaven Trail parking area and started the route from there. We chose to run the loop clockwise. Although this effort would set the mixed-gender FKT by default, our goal was still to finish under the time set by Scot DeDeo and Keith Eisenman in April 2026. This was our first time on these trails, so we were unfamiliar with the route. Although I had the GPS track on my watch, we still missed several turns and had to backtrack to stay on course. These mistakes cost us time and increased our total mileage by approximately 0.2 miles. Even with the extra mileage, our time of 54:26 was comfortably under all previous FKTs!
We enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine, but we plan to come back and set a faster time when it's a little cooler.
