I ran the historic Civil Rights March route from Selma to Montgomery (50.4 miles) on March 16th organized by the Civil Rights Race Series (https://www.selmatomontgomeryrelay.com/). It was in to commemorate to commemorate the 1965 world renowned march organized by activists to demonstrate the desire of African-American citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
I ran with a hydration vest and my parents crewed for me, providing water, gels, and coke at 8 different mile markers along the route. I was also able to grab water from relay teams stationed along the way. I predominately ran alone, with the exception of 5 minutes with one woman on a relay leg at the beginning of the race, and again for about a 1/2 mile with a gentleman around mile 42. But this was intentionally a solo run effort. I finished at the Alabama State Capitol with a crowd awaiting at the finish.
