I live in New Mills... I was justbrowsing FKT to see what local routes there were, and when I found this one I thought I'd upload my effort from 2019.
I ran it from my then-home (Hyde Bank Road in New Mills) solo unsupported on a soggy October day. It proved fairly steady going, with the ground not too wet. I knew bits of it already, but not all, but enough that nav went OK and I didn't get lost. I carried 1l of water and a few muesli bars in a running vest.
When I ran it I was not looking to set an FKT or aware that it would one day exist on here. However I did try to go at the faster end of my range... I was curious to see how quickly it could be run versus the annual walk, which allows about 8-9 hours I think. Therefore I was not hyper vigilant about sticking to the route, it is possible I have deviated, in which case I would be happy to withdraw this - and give it another go! The footbridge across to Grove Street was closed in 2019 so I crossed at the Sett footbridge instead and climbing up to Hyde Bank Road, which makes it a bit further. This also made it convenient to connect in and out of home. The Strava trace includes this extra bit.
