I completed a solo unsupported round of Isaac’s Tea Trail on a very hot Sat 8 Aug 2020 as part of the Greener Miles virtual race during lockdown. Others also did the route but I was careful to start after everyone and ran the whole way on my own passing a few walkers along the route. I carried my own kit inc food and drinks, only replenishing by splashing myself and wetting my cap in the river Allen. I used the public toilets in Alston and filled my bottle from the tap which is accessible to anyone. I ran out of fluids about 4 miles from the finish.
There are numerous gates and stiles on this route ( circa 170 I believe!) so it takes a lot of time to open and close these securely which must be done carefully as you are passing through farms and livestock.
A tough little route which was drier than usual underfoot but this made for sore feet and a thirsty runner !!
