With the huge snowpack and late melt out this season, the creeks were raging and there was still snow in the McAlester basin. I left the car at 5:20am and made it to the Stehekin bakery by 11 to grab a quick bite to eat. It would’ve gone faster, but with the snow and a ton of blow downs on Rainbow Creek, it added more time than I had hoped. Running along the road up to High Bridge was beautiful and allowed multiple opportunities to hop into the Stehekin river to cool off in the 90F heat. The way out Bridge creek was easy definitely warm, but lots of opportunities to cool down in creeks and springs along the way. Wish I had brought more electrolytes and food then I had, so a solid headache and blah feeling set in with 10 miles to go. Regardless, the views were beautiful and the PCT was in great shape all the way back to highway 20.
