On July 19, 2023 I attempted the Highland Backpacking Trail - Provoking Lake Loop. The attempt was completed with 3 x 500 ml soft flasks and gels. Everything went smooth except for a close encounter with a black bear on the trail part way through. I had to stop until they cleared the trail and then I was able to proceed.
