FKT: Steven "Aria Zoner" Thompson - Cusick Mountain (OR) - 2020-09-29

For this unsupported solo run, I camped the night before on Wallowa Lake, then hit the Wallowa Lake Trailhead in the morning. Although there were dozens of cars in the parking lot, I only saw a handful of other hikers, no one heading for Cusick. This was truly a spectacular trip. I saw mountain goats and a landscape like I had never seen before. It was like the Sierra, Glacier, and North Cascades all in one. The approach trail was in excellent condition and the summit ridge, an experience like no other. Only carried a pocketful of snacks and a 1 liter bottle which I refilled often in creeks along the way.
