FKT: Sue Harrison - Monsal Trail - 2026-07-04

Having already got an out-and-back FKT on this route I decided to go back and do a standard route too!  I ran it unsupported (my husband saw me off at the start, and was waiting for me at the finish).  Luckily the weather in Derbyshire that weekend had a respite from the heatwave, and conditions were overcast and a pleasant temperature.  The trail wasn't too busy and I had an easy and uninterrupted run throughout.  The trail is varied, with viaducts, cuttings, six tunnels, woodland, and some open views.  I felt good and enjoyed a lovely run.  The photos show me by the two trail end signs - just before I started and just after I'd after finished - and just as I was approaching the end.
