I ran the complete "Nahesteig" as it is waymarked with a little detour caused by forest works what added circa 500 meters.
I carried all my supplies (1l Maurten, 1l iso, 2 gels) in a vest and didn't need any extra water or food.
I ran the complete distance alone, but:
A couple of years ago I got attacked by a random stranger while running through a remote forest. The guy got caught by the police later but since then I suffer from anxiety and panic when running alone. To be able to set unsupported FKTs in remote areas I have my lifemate following me with distance just to feel safe. He doesn't approach me, talk to me, cheer me or support me in any thinkable way. I run all by myself but I know that he is circa 50 meters behind me so I can concentrate on running instead of constantly fearing beeing physically attacked.
I really hope that this is ok with the rules for unsupported FKTs. I guess that many other female runners have the same problems like me and probably hesitate from trying to set unsupported FKTs.
Thanks a lot for your great job and greetings from Germany,
Tamara Hartmann

I'm sorry, but that is absolutely NOT an unsupported run. Those of us who truly run alone don't have someone following us to bail us out if needed, that definitely falls under the "supported" category.
