We wanted to establish a baseline women's FKT for this route. One of the benefits of setting the first known time, we could take our time and enjoy the huckleberries! This was a fun course to run, and conditions on the uphill leg (Jack Creek and Snowall-Cradle Lake to the lake) were good. Typical for the area this year, there was a lot of blowdown and avalanche throw to deal with on the Snowall Creek descent. But the huckleberries were tasty, and good company kept the climbing over and under from getting too tedious. Brush was dense on French Creek trail, so my legs got well scratched and feet got tangled and going was slow even though the trailbed would otherwise be quite runnable. The creeks were low, so all the crossings were easy. It was a great day to be out on the trail, and we'll probably be back out to try it again.
