Followed the route Peter Jones submitted. Started up the old road passed the Avy danger sign for .6 miles (what my watch said) then headed up towards Engelmann. Tried to stay as close to the true ridge as much as I could all the way around. Then came down the steepest avy path ever.
Been eyeing this for some time now. Have done a few separate summer outings and have skied off Mount Parnassus and Engelmann Peak. Great fall day to be out above treeline for a few hours. The routing finding up Engelmann was pretty easy. Looks like some small cairns every so often and if all else fails go up. The avy path off the north end of Woods was insane. Most definitely ripped this winter and the debris is unreal. Navigating through that is a new skill and a painful one at that.
