Solo hiked just under 17 miles on undulating mixed terrain. Went well with moderate temperature and weather. Did not resupply with water or food (carried water from start point approx 1L). Water refill might be possible at Blidworth and Newstead Abbey, if needed. Easy route to follow with basic navigation skills and trail signposts. Route took 4 hours 47 minutes with 4 hours 22 minutes of moving time with an average 3.5 mph.
Landmarks: Fountaindale Lakes, Newstead Abbey and Thives Wood.
Some steep, but brief sections throughout with some longer gradual sections as well as 2 longer downhill sections and one downhill section at the end mirroring the beginning uphill section. Some areas are occupied by livestock (horses and sheep) but did not interfere when passing though the fields.
