I started at the Breakneck Ridge Trailhead on Rt 9 and followed the white blazes up, along the ridge and to the Beacon fire tower. From there, I followed the Casino Trail (red blazes) down to the Beacon trailhead near Rt 9. I then reversed and followed the same trail back to where I began. The route had steep scrambles and was very technical. My single traverse was 1 hour 45 minutes, the way back was 1 hour and 1 hour 50 minutes for the return trip for a total of 3 hours 34 minutes and 50 seconds. This was a supported run as I had my husband meet me at the fire tower on the return to hand me a full bottle. I used both my Garmin GPS watch and Strava mobile app to record the attempt. My Garmin file has the correct time (3:49:50) but lost signal on the trail and therefore the mileage is incorrect. The strava data recorded closer to the same distance as others have noted. I believe my elevation gain was closer to 4,800 feet.
