I decided to make my last long run of my training block an FKT attempt. I did not taper and was unsure I would be successful but the results are a big boost of confidence for me. I am running Rim Runner 100 in 3 weeks and after this FKT I feel really good about my training. I started out around 6:45. I took 4 1 liter solomon flasks and used my solomon vest. I hydrated with tailwind energy I prepared in zip lock bags for each flask fill up. I filled up at mile 18 at anderson point park and also mile 38 at shelly lake. Both refill location were right on the path so no time wasted there.

It was a very cold start but warmed up thankfully by late morning and other than the brisk air it was great weather. I had a chocolate bobo bar and took a single bite each time I refilled my bottles. Overall is was all liquid nutrition. I do much better with this I have discovered. I also took a gel in around mile 42. This is a fun route but you need to know where you are going. I went maybe a tenth a mile in wrong direction at one point and I have ran it before and feel familiar with many of the individual sections.
