Because all races are canceled for the year, I've decided to go for some FKTs around Michigan. This one seemed doable because it was pretty close to home and pretty short. This whole trail running thing is confusing, though! So many different paths and loops and tracks you could take. Plus, the GPS doesn't always read accurately even though I ran the same path every time. I almost didn't take the little switchback loop that was less than 1/2 mile from the finish but at the last second I turned, tripped, and almost fell but somehow managed to stay on my feet. I took over 2 minutes off the Sandhill KOM which was the FKT I was going for. I was a little worried, though, because I was 2 minutes faster than the previous record and my watch had the distance as 3.06 instead of 3.22. I guess I'll have to get used to the mileage not matching up exactly if I get into trail running!
