Set off from Tuas Link station bus shelter, as per the starting point of the FKT, at 3:34AM as I wanted clear the roads for the first 25Km to Alexandra Canal PCN. Quiet morning and the temperature sat around 27 degrees until the sun came up. Very little wind and calm.
I started with 3 bottles of water/electrolytes in my rucksack, a bottle in my the front shoulder strap and carried one in my hand. This was to be an unsupported attempt so I needed the hydration from the start with plan to stop once to fill up at the 43km mark.
I filled up the bottles once at the wakeboard east side public fountains and this was my longest stop.
Took the first half very steady through to Clarke Quay averaging around 4:40 and then picked the pace up to around the 4:04-4:10/km from the DNA bridge for the last 25km.
Had to dig so deep as the sun came up for the last 20km and the heat spiked. The last 10km was pretty hard and lonely. Crossed the line at Aviation Park Road at about 8:01
