I began at the bustling center of Times Square and embarked on my journey north toward my home city of Boston, MA. I made my way through New York City in the dead of night before continuing north through the days and nights that followed.

Along the way, my incredible support crew met me roughly every 15 miles, providing food, drinks, encouragement, and, on a few occasions, a quick nap in the car. Throughout the journey, I slept only about 8 hours. Many of these naps came on random sidewalks or park benches. I drank countless Dr. Peppers and energy drinks, developed a strong affinity for Chick-fil-A, and learned just how far the human body and mind can be pushed.

I completed this 250-mile run to raise $14,000 for suicide prevention, in honor of a friend I lost to suicide a decade ago.

This run was unlike anything I had ever done before. More than the distance, the sleep deprivation, or the physical challenge, what made it special was the reason behind it. I was honored to take on something this difficult for such an important cause, and I feel incredibly blessed by the support I received from the people who joined me along the route and from everyone watching and cheering from afar.

Editor: This run did not start at the appropriate finish line of NY city marathon but the start at Time Square is seen as compensation.
