This was my attempt for the supported FKT of the Mol-Om trail. The goal was to finish under 11 hours, but we had a lot of issues.
Starting at 46K in, my dad who was following with his bike to provide me with water or food or anything else, had some major issues with his bike. We couldn't get it fixed and had to call someone who brought another bike. But when we had the other bike, we lost about 2 hours in total.
Then at 63K in my stomach wasn't accepting any food anymore and I wasn't feeling great anymore. Had to take a break there as well, in the hope that I would feel better and be able to continue. Which I was, but also lost about 45 mins I think.
I wasn't able to eat anymore, so I knew that that would become a problem when I still had to go for about 25K. In the end I managed to get 2 gels in, which I could keep in and those helped me to get to the finish line. But there was actually quite a lot of walking involved as well so the avg pace dropped then to 8:30/k I think. the first 50k was @ 6:15/k pace on avg I think.
The last 25k, my mom also joined by foot and ran/walked the rest of the trail with me. the last 25K according to her watch took 3:14 hours (so 8:00/k pace) but in between we also took 30 mins of resting. So total time was 3:45h)
Anyway, I'm proud that I was able to continue to push and reach the finish line. Who knows I'll give it a new shot in the future :)
