Hoping to have been a bit quicker, but was on the verge of cramping for the last 16 or so miles...

Started at about 6.15am, I stashed my pack & a bottle of coke at Dockray on the way to Pooley Bridge and ran the first trail section with a waist pack for phone, car key and a gel.  Picked up the full pack at Dockray, was able to fill water bottles alongside Seat Sandall, then another going up Red Screes.  Met my wife Nicky and Kirkstone to re-supply and she joined me back to Pooley Bridge for a run.

Managing cramp from Red Screes to the finish which meant I had to run 'sensibly' to prevent it from coming on which was a shame as I'd hoped to go for it on the last 8 miles of easier running!  There's no water on the route after Kirkstone to re-supply with which would have helped.  Also a few minor nav issues after High Street which would have added the odd minute as I'd only run that bit once before.

Perfect weather on the fells with cool breeze early, good visibility & sunshine but not too hot.  Might do it again to try and go quicker, a good, hard run - look forward to seeing what time others get the FKT down to!
