This is an awesome trail!
Here's a brief summary of my run which began at 6:05AM on July 11, 2017.
I ran solo and usupported from the North Fork trailhead to the Whiskey Bend trailhead in 8:48:05. My mileage splits and tracks are available here: www.movescount.com/moves/move165894291. I stopped twice to filter water, first near the Low Divide and then at a small creek near the Hayes Bridge. I also stopped briefly near Wilder to exchange car keys with my friend and fellow trail runner Dave Molenaar who ran the trail in the opposite direction. Swapping vehicles allowed me to do the traverse without the headache of shuttling a car and is an excellent way to do this run given the 2.5 hr drive between trailheads. Although Northbound has a net uphill of 620 feet I think it’s the preferable direction for running a fast time because you can put the challenging technical sections of the Northfork trail behind you on fresh legs.... So thank you Dave for agreeing to run in the more difficult direction during your taper for the Bigfoot 100K and also thanks for the excellent leftover pizza and homebrew that I scavenged from your truck!
