Pole Mountain Double
On Xmas day, I journeyed to the top of Pole Mountain via the Sea to Sky Trail twice!!
The weather was gritty, to say the least, with highs in the low 40's and pouring rain and high winds for most of the run, hence the lack of pics, but I managed to snap one of the sunrise before the rain started.
My climbing legs were in rare form, and I managed to PR my single assent time on the first leg and came within 5 min of negative splitting the whole 50k route.
For a mid-pack guy, I can say that I ran out of my mind. I had a goal of going sub 6hours on this, so needless to say; I am incredibly pleased with this effort.
I ran self-supported using my car to resupply for the second leg.
This 50k route is a Sonoma County Ultra Tribe right of passage, and now that the FKT is set, I can't wait to see some of my speedy friends bring this one down.
