I attempted this FKT on Friday, July 28th, 2023. I started at the North Horse Creek Trailhead and ran to the Harris Ranch Trailhead and back. I started at 1:25 pm. There are some trees down on both sides and some overgrown bushes along the trail (especially close to the river on both sides), but besides that, the trail was in great shape. I found a couple other people on Strava who seem to have attempted the out and back, but all of their times were slower.
I backpacked down from the North side the day before to check out the river crossing. I was hoping to be able to find trail immediately on the other side of the river, but I could not. Because of this, I ended up walking for nearly 1/4 mile down the river. Once I hit some bigger rock shelves on the left hand side, I jumped out of the river and was able to pick my way to the campsites and start of the Harris Ranch trail. It was actually pretty refreshing to wade in the creek both times. It averaged between ankle and knee deep. On the way back, I laid down in the creek. It wasn't that hot out, but it felt great. You might be able to leave the river earlier to avoid so much creek walking, but it would include a lot of bushwacking in very tall grass and salmonberry thickets. I would not recommend!
I carried one hand-held and a bunch of snacks. I also carried a Katadyn Be Free filter to refill my water bottle when I returned to the river for the 2nd time.
I submitted this route originally. Because of this, I won't include any more pictures because my pictures from the day are already included in the route description.
