We started from the eastern terminus of the Coal Creek trail in Erie Colorado in the dark just before 5am MST on 5/4/2025. This allowed for a cool start around 45F. The plan to start early allowed for us to carry all our own water without refill as temps stayed cool throughout the entire run. The other benefit of a cool, early Sunday morning was minimal traffic on the trail. These plans played out nicely as on the first half of the attempt we saw less than 6 other trail users. At the western terminus of the trail was the only unplanned difficulty in that Boulder County was doing some trail construction and the last .05-.1mi that goes under McCaslin BLVD was closed. We had to detour to the south and go up and over McCaslin and around to the end of the GPS track which was under construction near Superior City Hall. This added some time and extra distance but was the only legal way to get the entire length. Video in the supporting files. On the way back as the day warmed up, there was some additional traffic on the trail but worked very smoothly through the finish right before 9am in total elapsed time of 4 hours, 1 minute and 43 seconds. All food/water was brought and carried by ourselves from the start to the finish. No water/food was shared between us in the attempt.
