Should of gotten out earlier. But got to the southern trailhead at 8am. Rolled my ankle within the first 10 steps. Stopped and restarted the whole thing. Things were great for 10 miles. Beautiful day and just cruising. Then the Rockwood hills were fun but rough for the next 8 miles. Wasn't sure if the water was on so I just turned around and headed back. Got to the turn around at 2:53. However, 1.5 L of water wasn't quite enough. I was fine until 5 to go. The temps got too high and I started wished I had more water or bare minimum I had stopped at the creek to cool off. With 5 miles to go I knew I had the FKT but was still hoping for sub 4 hrs. On tired legs the trail felt technical and I was going slow fearful of a rolled ankle that would put a damper on training. Thanks to Jim Seymour for popping in 4 times for a little run. Anyway happy I did it. GreenRock has been a bucket list item for quite some time.
