I ran this counterclockwise from Longmire, starting and finishing at the Wonderland Trail sign. If I were to do this again I'd switch to clockwise, as the descent from Unicorn to Snow Lake was very rough. I think it would be better to climb that and descend the well-maintained Eagle Peak trail.

I opted not to bring a rope, though I can see how folks might one for Unicorn; the fourth class option around the right side is pretty committing. The Castle I found more chill, and much nicer than the last time I climbed it (in ski boots). Everything else is class 3 or easier, though I was surprised at just how much technical terrain there is on this route. I had to use my hands on all but three of the peaks (Chutla, Plummer, and Foss being the only true walk-ups).

There were a lot of water sources, even in the alpine, since it had rained three days prior to my run. I think water could be much more of an issue in the summer. I mostly used gels for this, along with a couple stroopwafels and applesauce packets.

Splits (as you can see, I kinda fell apart at the end; the talus descent down to Snow Lake broke me):
