Incredible day for running fast. Two of my medical school classmates, Christian Edwards and Trent Griner, along with Christian's dad, Wayne Edwards, rode their bikes next to me the entire way. Christian carried some water in his backpack and I took some right around mile 6 or so. The boys also helped ensure safe road crossings, as there are quite a few of them on this trail. Could not have done it without these guys. Just some solid camaraderie and fellowship! The plan was to run sub 6 minute mile pace and we executed well, as we negative split nearly the entire run. Felt smooth, fast, and controlled. Hope this record stands for a while!
