Completed the Ullswater Rim. Had a great day out with reasonable weather; not too windy, not too wet, not too sunny. Was behind pace around halfway but did the calculations at the top of High Street and figured the FKT was still in reach if I managed a quick descent.
Ran solo the whole way, carrying gels with me from the start, filling up water in Grizedale Tarn and a couple of questionable gulps from one or two of the few streams that weren’t dried up.
Tough route, especially the middle section (Red Screes is as bad going down as it is going up) but it really is downhill all the way home from High Street, very fast and very runnable.
