South to North, unsupported, beginning a little before 7am. I carried 48oz and 5 gels, for 970 total calories. The heat index was 96 by the time I finished, so I was short on water. I was on pace for my goal time until I took a wrong turn a little past the marathon mark and had to cut through the woods and cross a few streams to get back on the trail. I just planned to jog it in but started to feel rough when I ran out of water and the weather got warmer, which resulted in some hiking. The Southern part of the trail is well groomed, but the Northernmost 8 miles or so involves a lot of unmaintained trail with knee-high grass and weeds. The North end of the trail finishes at Kingsmill Market, but I would not recommend parking there. My wife parked there for maybe 15 minutes to pick me up at the finish and the owners told us to move.
