I will be heading out from North Cape on Monday, March 30th at 9pm to attempt the unsupported Fastest Known Time on the Tip to Tip route as well as the Confederation Trail. The Confederation Trail opens for the season on March 31st therefore I plan to arrive at the trailhead at midnight which will be roughly 15kms into the journey making for a slow and steady start until my pack lightens up.

FYI, the trail doesn't open until April 1st, so you are running on it while its closed.

For safety and to respect the agreement in place, we don’t condone using the trail during that time. Thanks for understanding.

Good day, I had been in contact with all companies involved before heading out and had been granted access early to the trail! The snowmobile association hadn’t used it since early March so they were on board with me using it! Thank you for your concern.

Also just an FYI, the trail is never “closed” the snowmobile association just maintains it for a portion of the year. You can purchase a pass to use the trail during the off season so as long as you have permission/a season pass the trail is fully open to the public year round. Thank you for your concern, I am a conservationist and trail runner therefore I always make sure to follow the rules of the trails!
