Day 1: started at the Norbeck Dam TH in Wind Cave National Park at 5:22 AM. I started and hiked by myself the whole day and saw some bison and a ton of prairie dogs. I camped North of Horsethief Lake CG in the Forest
Day 2: I started early before sunrise and hiked all day ending about 6 trail miles South of the Dalton Lake Area.
Day 3: This was my longest day and I was in a lot of pain. I started hiking before 4 AM and didn’t finish until I was on top of Bear Butte Summit, which marks the north end of the trail. I finished hiking at 8:19 PM
I was right behind you. I started on Friday. You were my inspiration to keep pushing. I knew you were out there also giving it your all. I would love to talk to you about your trip. If you want to also just DM on Instagram. lance_smith_1970
Thanks Lance! I was keeping a close eye on your Garmin link watching you go. Seeing your huge first day definitely made me step up the miles. I sent you a message on Instagram. In case you don’t get it, I’m @namsewman
