The first FKT in Vietnam!
Da Lat is the centre for outdoor sports in Vietnam. Beautiful trails and high alitude make this place the perfect training and racing ground for trail running and mountainbiking. Nha Trang is one of the many beautiful coastal towns in Vietnam.
The route Dalat to Nha Trang is one of the most popular roads for cycling and road trips and is covered frequently in travel guides and documentaries. Starting in the highlands in Dalat, the route takes you through coffee and tea farms. Known for its misty and serene landscapes, every sunrise is a beautiful experience. The first 60km of the route wiggles through the highlands, covering some elevation gain, and promises some breath taking views in the mountains.
The second part of the route is a long downhill, coming from the highlands to the plateau of the Nha Trang area. It is a challenging section with numerous serpetines winding down the hills.
The third part is rather flat where the route goes through the agricultural hinterland of Nha Trang. It finishes at the beach in Nha Trang, a gorgeous sea town, with delicious sea food and relaxed vibes waiting for the finisher.
Totalling 135km and elevation gain of 2466m and elevation loss of 3937m, this route is iconic in Vietnam as it connects two beautiful cities. No runner has attempted to run this route so far. Time to change that.
Definitely doing this one next time I'm in Vietnam! Hopefully in the next year :)
