I plan on attempting an Unsupported FKT for this route on May 13, 2021.

My plan is to start at the easternmost start/finish point (near the intersection of University and Jamboree) and run in the counterclockwise direction. This will allow me to have access to the only public drinking fountain on the route at about the halfway point if needed.

Unfortunately I ran into many complications on my run today, some preventable, some not, either way it's good to see Jason already set a really respectable time here, my goal was to get more people running this route and It already looks like there will be some good competition coming in the future. Can't wait to see what will happen to the times here going forward, and who knows, maybe I'll get another opportunity to try to get my name on the list some day.

I completed and submitted this route today starting at Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve running CW. My distance and time were 10.2 miles in 1:12:12. This location has free parking and is at the highest point on the route so it does have an uphill finish. Another good start point would be Mariners Park at the corner of Irvine and Dover.

This FKT should be null void. The runner skipped a runnable portion of the back bay and I assume on purpose so his seg didnt match some of the elite marathoners that train here. Having run with 2 of the local clubs there I can tell you (see strava link below) his time isnt even in the top 20 let alone an FKT.

Sorry if this seems mean or angry but I think these fkts need more research or local running club presidents to be included on them. This is a joke and either an ego stroke or just pure ignorance of the area. Next time I am in the area I'll have to dunk on it because its a joke.
