Description

The Three Eagle Trail connects the communities of Three Lakes and Eagle River (WI). The trail begins in Don Burnside Park in Three Lakes and ends near the Dairy Queen in Eagle River. The trail is crushed limestone. For the first 3.5 miles, it follows an old railroad bed out of Three Lakes along HWY 45. At about 3.5 miles, the trail takes a left hand turn and goes deep into the beautiful north woods. It includes three boardwalks, including the 660-foot Four Women Boardwalk that spans Mud Creek. Unlike typical rail to trail routes, the Three Eagle Trail includes some elevation change and twists and turns. Wildlife sightings (deer, eagles) are also common.
