As I had initially stated in my previous FKT on this route, I was working toward the goal of breaking the 2 hour barrier on the Que Loop.
I had been training on this route a lot lately in preperation for a race. Got home and was tired so I took a 30 min. Power nap and then drove to the trail head. I was still sleepy and had some brain fog the first 3 miles or so until I was fully focused on the training run. Didn't pay attention to the time so much, but definitely ran at threshold pace and suffered a little. 2 miles from finish I looked at the time and realized I had a shot so I went for it. Happy that my continued training is showing improvements in speed and fitness.
