We had some wet and wild conditions in the first half of the Stirling Ridge Walk. The slippery conditions and the winds made progress slow for the first few hours. It cleared up after a couple of hours making it easier to follow the trails and my speed picked up. I got to the base of Bluff Knoll just before midday and the heat and humidity was pretty high over the next couple of hours.
The sun started to set as I got to the bottom of Mount Toolbrunup leaving me three peaks to complete in the dark. The cooler conditions were a welcome relief after a hot day, so I got to work finishing off the last three peaks.
The elevation gain on the GPX and the strava upload are a bit different. The stormy conditions on the First section of the Ridge Walk seemed to affect the barometer on my watch, so I used the Strava Basemap for elevation when I uploaded the run.
I had 3 friends meet me at the top of Ellen Peak to take some photos as I got up there. My partner, Emma, met me at the top of Mount Hassell just after sunset and ran down the mountain with me. The four of them met me at the base of each of the climbs to restock with nutrition and hydration supplies.
