Beautiful windy moody day! Recent blowdowns mostly cleared, trail in good shape other than a little mud from GDR last weekend. I went up on a weekday to avoid the crowds from Vogel, and it was definitely a quiet day--only saw a few backpackers and a mama bear with two cubs about a mile and a half in, first time I've ever seen bears in Georgia. They were a ways downhill from the trail.
This route is extra special to me as it's where my husband and I got engaged on a trail run in early 2020.
