Beautiful day and great weather on this awesome loop! I've been interested in this route for a while and seeing Joseph's great time a few days ago definitely raised the bar for the effort I knew I'd need to bring today!
This run was for a project so there were a couple photographers near Brown's pass taking photos of me on the way down. I selected the supported style since the guidelines state that is technically considered emotional support. However, it was important to me to run it in an unsupported aesthetic while still fulfilling the project's goals of documenting the experience (even if it would make it technically a supported effort) so I chose not to have them to provide me with any aid. I didn't receive anything from them (water, food or gear) or drop anything when I passed. I carried one 500ml handheld with electrolytes and a few gels which fueled my run. Would definitely bring two handhelds next time, ran out of water with about 6 miles to go. I had no pacers and could have refilled my bottles at many streams/river crossings but decided not to.
